This nation is locked in a fever dream, driven by the algorithm. The algorithmic response to Charlie Kirk’s murder has us all at fever pitch. We need a cool compress.
There’s nothing cool about Donald Trump, heating up the hottest country in the world.
Will Mike Lawler cool us down? Not a chance. He’s blinded by the fever himself, injecting X-rated MAGA material straight into his veins, releasing infectious droplets in all directions, sucking us down into the algorithmic frenzy of his ambitions.
So many examples. Let’s just take the latest.
Let’s reflect on what this says about Mike Lawler, as opposed to “this woman.” By the way, “this woman” is Lawler’s colleague in the House of Representatives, Jasmine Crockett of Texas. Our esteemed NY-17 representative thought it worthy to amplify a one-sentence post from “Breaking911” without context, to score some quick points, put “her” down, spread some toxic droplets.
Of course Crockett’s statement is nonsensical standing alone. Do you think Mike took the time to watch the full interview and truly listen to his colleague? Of course not. As you might imagine, this excerpt was part of a much longer discussion about civil justice, prosecutorial discretion, the indigent who are defenseless in our criminal justice system, and distinguishing those who break the law from those who have a criminal mindset (like, perhaps, Donald Trump?).
Let’s move on to the algorithm.
“A social media algorithm is a set of computational rules and procedures used by social media platforms to sort, prioritize, and deliver content to users. These algorithms analyze user behavior, preferences, and interactions to personalize the content they see.” – emplifi.com
And what is the algorithm feeding Mike Lawler based on his behavior, preferences and interactions? Breaking911, which mediabiasfactcheck.com described as “a Questionable Source based on the promotion of clickbait headlines that do not fully match the stories, the publication of false information, and a complete lack of transparency.”
Yes, Lawler feeds on clickbait worms from questionable sources, then baits and provokes his constituents.
Is this Breaking911 clickbait really the most compelling in the murky X pond where Lawler swims? It’s not that hard to spot others that are of deeper concern than Crockett’s discussion of criminal justice.
Mike could just have easily reposted, “This woman is the Attorney General of the United States? Good grief.”
Or he might have reposted, “This man is President of the United States? Good grief.”
As David Letterman said about the Jimmy Kimmel situation, “”The institution of the president of the United States ought to be bigger than a guy doing a talk show.” Similarly, the institution of Congress ought to be bigger than reposting clickbait from Breaking911.
Mike Lawler is a bottom feeder. We must seek the light.
