Don Quixote Trump is on a quest to defeat the windmills. He knows their dangers very much.
Did you know that the noise from wind turbines causes cancer? Donald does.
And then there’s Donald’s Sancho Panza, Mike Lawler. Unfortunately, his sanchismos are neither entertaining nor wise. Witness the state of our political discourse from last week.
Stupidity, bullshit, moron!!
So much could be said about this exchange. But it’s hard to get past Lawler’s opening salvo: “You are a complete moron!” You would be forgiven if your first impulse was, he must be talking about Trump. The man who has no control over the shift key on his keyboard, declaring clean energy the “SCAM OF THE CENTURY.”
Two days after this exchange, Trump’s Department of the Interior issued a stop work order on a wind farm project off the coast of Rhode Island that is 80% complete. Something about national security concerns? Billions of dollars spent, a project that would provide 704 megawatts of reliable clean power, or enough for 350,000 homes, as well as reduce carbon emissions by more than a million tons per year. Shut down.
Yesterday, Trump filed court papers to revoke federal permits for another wind farm project off the coast of Ocean City, MD. Expect much more.
We know that Mike Lawler is a mouthpiece for both Trump and the natural gas industry (see “Full of Gas“). The facts are clear. Renewable energy is cheaper. Shutting down a multi-billion dollar energy project that is 80% complete is fiscally insane. Donald Trump is a liar. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act supported by Lawler will kill tens of thousands of jobs, reduce power generation capacity, reduce competitiveness of the U.S. clean energy industry, and increase consumer energy costs.
And Mike Lawler calls out Chuck Schumer as the moron? Seems to me that “moron” starts with the letter M.
