Stop Pretending

Now that Mike Lawler has bowed to Don Taco and cast the deciding vote on the Big Beautiful Bill (BBB)in the House, the pressure’s off for the moment and he has more time on his hands. So he’s scanning our Governor’s news releases and social media posts for typos. And guess what. He gotcher!!

The Governor’s staff committed a typo! Then corrected it! But crack Mike Lawler was on the case and used his wayback machine to resurrect and spotlight this reckless and uncaring act. Summoning his most effective middle schooler instincts. As I sometimes do: Don Taco and Mike Typo.

Meanwhile, the man that Mike Lawler defends every day of the week, posted this on Memorial Day:

No sign of Lawler’s typo police on this one, let alone the sanity police.

As for the Governor, at least she’s making the rounds talking substance versus typos:

It’s notable that Lawler has been hard to find of late on the news shows. After appearing multiple times daily on major outlets in the run-up to the BBB vote, breathlessly promoting his high priority State and Local Tax (SALT) deduction increases for the wealthy, he’s gone dark.

Maybe because the BBB he passed will add trillions of dollars to the federal deficit, no matter how you do the math. And will cut $723 billion from Medicaid, primarily by increasing barriers to enrollment through work requirements. To provide tax cuts to the wealthy. Hard to defend.

Now Lawler is playing the same game with Medicare that he played with Medicaid — denying that there are any Medicare cuts in the BBB just because there is no explicit language to that effect.

The truth is that the cost of the BBB would automatically trigger hundreds of billions of dollars in cuts to Medicare. Yet Lawler lashes out at anybody who dares to suggest any impact on Medicare, accusing them of “spreading blatant falsehoods about the House reconciliation bill, which does nothing to cut Medicare.”

Mike Lawler is the man denying the truth as he defends the man on Truth Social. Stop pretending that you’re a moderate, Mike. Or that you care about the truth, as you fight the bold fight against radical left typos..
